Back in time the Aborigenis rights were nowhere to see. They were being discriminated and killed in the Australian society. When the Englishmen came they had little to defend themselves with. If the Aborigines killed a white men sheep the white man would kill the native Australian who did it. When the State of Australia was established in 1901 the indigenous people weren’t allowed to vote. Because they wasn’t classified as “Australians”.
One gruesome example on what the European did against them was in 1926, when it was reported that an Aboriginal was responsible for a murder on a European- Australian. Then the local policeman gathered a local gang and went on by killing the whole local tribe.
Through the 1930s, 40s, 50s many part white children were taken away from their family and placed on orphanages so they could be raised in “the white man” way of living. In some cases was the government and the church helping people adopt part-white children into their family. This process happened sometimes totally peacefully, other times where the children taken by force.
